Well, ... I did it!!! :o)

This is the first game I ever 'published', or let's say, it's a first try of going deeper in the art of coding where I still feel kind of green ...

I had way too many idea's and get lost in details very fast, so i decided to only use CSS-rules and Unicode-characters for my design.

Music is a midi-file from this page:  http://www.volkslieder-songarchiv.de/
I arranged it my way with Caustic3

The things didn't go as  I wanted (logic for a first try, maybe ...) as VS-Studiocode didn't save more than 50% of my work this wednesday, even if Strg+S was there nearly every minute ... so I had to calm down and try to go as fast as I could.

The initial idea was to do something with forest animals and the witch who would guide the friends with the cakes to her house and put one of them in prison ...
As I didn't have the time (and skills ... still need to see StackOverflow a lot and the tracking algorithms are not yet in my mastery) I will try to go further with this idea, as i kind of like the first approach, even if the character-animation is really basic :o)

Really hoping for constructive feedback! As a self-taught guy, who learns by trial and error, I always enjoy if there is people sharing their experience .

Great first post! I like the asci art and straightforward premise! For a top down I move too fast, and I bump into trees because I cant see where I'm going. Maybe add some padding so the camera starts moving before I reach the edge?

thanks for your feedback happy to know that things start to work somehow at least a bit :o)
as you are the second who tells me about to much speed, would it be possible that you send me a small screen-recording for me to see it?
because actually i have the impression that my pc really slowed it down a lot and that's why i actually raised the speed.

Very interesting design and nice music. But sometimes i stuck in the trees and house. And i think the movement of the character is too fast

thanks for your opinion.
good to know that character is too fast - i raised the speed because on my pc it seemed to slow, but it wasn't the charcter, it was the pc as it seems .. :D

Good start! I like the ASCII style. Definitely seems unfinished, seems like you get the key for the witches house and then they... drink beer and that's the end? Anyway well done for uploading something.

thank you for these constructive and motivating words ... you got it totally right :o)

the witch at the end was still to much for my actual coding skills, so i just took the 'cheap ending' to at least make it end somehow, as i was short from not submitting anything at all as i needed to repeat the work of a whole day in the middle of my process - but somehow i needed this first try to get a more concrete focus in this self-taught journey that feels like only the beginning of a long path and so i forced it to be 'anything' ... i will try to build a story step by step now from this very basic structure, hopefully increasing the quality with growing skills and time.
